Our little burrito

After falling off Abby's shoulders and smacking his head onto our fuzzy tile floor, Jeff comforted him by wrapping him up in his Big Bird blankie. While he doesn't look very enthused, he asked his dad to wrap him up "like a burrito" the next day, so it couldn't have been too bad. However, it's way too claustrophobic-looking to me. 

Someday my prince will come

Last Sunday while Jonah and I were at church, the three other kids created a production of "Sleeping Beauty." There was singing, dancing, and even kissing. We were very proud of all of them and their artistic abilities. We're looking forward to more productions (and pictures).

While we feel incredibly lucky to have had the girls experience doing a show with Grandpa, we are also ready for them to get a full night's sleep. They all did a marvelous job, and I became a little sentimental watching Pops do Tevya again. What great memories and friends they now have!

My knight in shining armor

While we don't promote playing with guns, knives, light sabors and the like, we couldn't resist getting this little ditty for the boys. Sam looks so gladiatorish. Go Sam. 

Abby's first attempt

While her other video is awesomely entertaining, we thought we would share her first attempt to show you it isn't as easy as she makes it look. Since she didn't quite get her legs up and over the bar on the first swing, they let her practice what they had been doing previously in class. We still think she's a great little flyer.

We posted another picture (which will eventually be a video once we figure out how to post it), but until we get that going again, we thought we'd post a better picture. You can't tell from this shot, but she is standing on a board about the size of a 2x4 and reaching out. Even with the harness, we think she is very brave.

Abby was the youngest student in her trapeze class in New York, but she did a great job. Who knew there would be such a thing right on the bank of the Hudson River? Just one more reason to go! If you want any info, their web site is http://www.trapezeschool.com/

Well, not really. But there was lots to see up high in the sky on top of the Empire State Building. Luckily we had clear skies and cool temperatures that day. We miss New York already! (And both of you too, of course, Pat and Sal.)

Does anyone have a mirror?

Abby had way too much fun giving her Uncle Pat a new do. He had grown his hair out since January so there was plenty to play with, and she went wild. It emerged in stages, including my personal favorite--racing stripes. Pat was a great sport, but was unwilling to sport the new do out in public (much to Abby's dismay). Regardless, it was a nice way to start her New York trip. Way to go, Pat and Abby! 

Argh, matey

Except being a bit blurry, we think Hannah's special effect of wearing a plunger on her knee to appear pirate-like worked very well. The fifth grade play was a big hit--everyone did a marvelous job.

Stuck on you

Jeff and Sam are buzz buddies for the summer. Not only are they less hot, but they can do party tricks like sticking their heads together like velcro.

What a beautiful day for a dive. See I-80 swooping around the bottom of the picture and Antelope Island off in the distance. And as Steph's photographer said. "Now you know why the birds sing". 

That's Me

Okay, it's hard to see it in this picture (if you click on the picture, it will reappear a bit bigger), but here I am floating high in the sky, doing the twists and turns that made me just a little bit nauseous. It was absolutely thrilling, especially the free fall. I can't wait to do it again!

Today was a big day. In celebration of Steph's birthday, Jeff surprised her by taking her skydiving! It was even more exciting when Steph's mom decided she would join her. Here she is getting suited up and practicing her deep breathing exercises before the big jump. Way to go, Mom!
